I've had innumerable conversations with customer service, at the conclusion of which they've assured me, "No, everything's fine now, it'll all sync no problem". Read more rubbish service I've received so far, it didn't seem wise to throw more money away. They offer iDrive Express service, where you load your data onto a hard drive, but the postage charge for this - if you're in Europe, as I am - is $40+ ONE WAY, so we're looking at 80 bucks postage alone, and, based on the. I've spent numerous hours reading their FAQ, watching videos, tweaking my computer parameters, etc and it's been massively frustrating and mostly a waste of time. Since then it's managed to upload approx 10,000 of my 90,000+ files. My experience with these guys has been pretty awful. this product has been a great improvement for my M/Home with easy acceleration tractability and variable control settings. On all the Hills all the way down to Rocky it held the gears longer, and downshifted earlier and it responded much better to my Light foot Pressure, once past Rocky (Qld) i changed to U 5 setting even More instant response and the hills, and curves made my M/home a Real Pleasure to drive, its a massive difference over the Factory M-B V6 519 sprinter. Read more confidence not to Snail drive in busy cities as i Always did Prior to my IDrive install. Only set on U 4 from Townsville the instant power for making traffic lights before red change gave me more. 5.5 ton M-B Sprinter 519 M/home on hills and long winding roads, and major cities traffic, it was Always sluggish and Many times I got red lights on exit, a Nightmare in Red light camera areas, the foot Pressure I previously had to use on the accelerator was always Very tiring. Having done the Big Lap in 2019 in a N.H.V.
#Idrive reviews reddit install
Purchased from Repco Townsville, and easy self install with a call to Idrive Great support who walked me thru install. They are not cheap items either and even on ebay a Denso variable geometry control solenoid valve sells for over $300.00. With the iDrive installed I regularly get Turbo over-boost spikes, usually during a gear change, and that happens even with a brand new boost control solenoid.īut after a couple of months the over-boost issues quickly become worse and after about a year of constant city driving the boost solenoid packs it in. Therefore it is wearing out very quickly. What I think is happening is this because the iDrive is speeding up the acceleration process, the Turbo boost process is also speeding up along with it and the OEM Boost controller which is now working many times faster than it was designed to operate is having great difficulty keeping up. But when you fit an iDrive it becomes a quick revving, quick accelerating motor with next to no low down lag. Read more ow revving, slow accelerating motor with heaps of low down Turbo lag built in. In the Triton's case, from the factory it is a sl. Before the iDrive I had no issues with the solenoid at all. Why do I say this? Well now, I have gone through three of these boost solenoids in the three years I have had the iDive fitted to my Triton. It wears out the variable geometry control solenoid valve (or turbo boost solenoid)10 times faster. It makes the Mitsubishi Triton with the 4D56 2.5 Diesel motor 10 times more responsive under acceleration & turns a slow vehicle into a fun machine.īut in my opinion it also causes a hidden issue.
